The St. Vincent de Paul Society (SVP)
The SVP is an international, Catholic, voluntary organisation with regional and local networks, dedicated to tackling poverty and disadvantage by providing direct, practical assistance to anyone in need.
Befriending is at the centre of what we do. The essence of our work is person-to-person contact and spending time with people; giving them a sense of belonging is our greatest gift. As a society, we welcome people of all faiths and none, and joyfully extend our hand in the cause and personal service of individuals and families who need support. • supporting local families in need with food, fuel, and occasionally white goods;
• holding an annual healing Mass;
• regularly collecting produce for the local foodbanks;
• donating items to local refugee groups;
Members of MiniVinnies (junior branches of SVP) at St. Augustine’s and Crackley Hall Schools are also very active with their fundraising.

• co-ordinating SVP support funding from conferences in the Diocese for Fatima House, Birmingham, which houses and helps single women asylum seekers;
• donating once a year to send children from deprived areas to an SVP holiday camp;
Overseas:
