Second Sunday of Lent Year A
Dear parishioners,
During the week we saw two wonderful community moments. We had the celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation with members of year 6 and our parish group and our Lenten lunch. Confirmation was a very prayerful and inspiring occasion and I want to thank Bishop Richard for presiding. I also want to thank the staff at St. Augustine’s School and our parish catechists for their work and preparation throughout the year. Thanks also to the music group, the flower team, the sacristy team and to all who provided the wonderful refreshments afterwards in the Centre.
The Lenten lunch was a delight with great hospitality and with charity at its heart. It is in moments like this that we can so clearly see how well the parish comes together, gathered in prayer and in community. This is how evangelisation takes place: by creating a welcoming and supportive environment where people want to belong, inspiring others to belong. With my prayers, Fr Ryan
WE WELCOME INTO THE PARISH FAMILY Alife who will be received into full communion with the Catholic Church and be Confirmed this weekend. We pray for all the young people Confirmed in our parish during the last week. We pray for Gabriele who will be Confirmed next weekend. May God bless them and their families. If you are an adult and would like to be Confirmed in the Catholic Church, please speak to the clergy.
THIS WEEKEND WE WELCOME MARIA FROM SVP - There will be an appeal at each Mass by Maria L., our Membership Support Officer, and a follow up information evening on Wed 4 March at 7pm in St Francis Parish Centre. Everyone is welcome to come and find out more about the Society, what we do, and the ways in which you might be involved.
W.A.R.M (Warwick Action For Refugees and Marginalised groups) desperately need clean, S/M/L, good quality, clean clothing, for men who are housed in temporary accommodation and have no possessions whatsoever. They are in urgent need of joggers, t-shirts, sweaters, sweatshirts and jeans. They currently do not need shoes. . Any suitable donations can be dropped at the Kenilworth Centre in the collection bin in the foyer.

All are welcome for Baptism |
Sometimes people feel worried about asking so I wanted to share this personal message. Please feel at ease about asking for Baptism for yourself or for your children. Baptisms usually take place Saturdays and Sundays at 12 noon. If you have any questions or would like further information please contact me through the parish office. Fr. Ryan |
WALKING TOGETHER - UNFOLDING GOD‘S PLAN in our Parish
Following Archbishop Bernard’s Pastoral Letter, we are invited to reflect on how we can continue to work together build a vibrant community of faith, joyful in our service of God and neighbour. All are welcome to share in this important process.
Over the past year we have met to discuss and put into place plans to bring to life the Diocesan Vision Statement and how we continue to move forward as a parish - deepening our faith (formation and spiritual growth), sharing our faith (evangelisation), celebrating our faith (worship and liturgy) and witnessing our faith (social action) - click here for a summary.
